Summary
At IMEX Frankfurt 2025, Henry Coutinho-Mason delivered a thought-provoking presentation titled "Thriving in the AI era: Non-obvious ways to design a people-first AI strategy." Challenging the fetishization of AI technology, he echoed Jeff Bezos' focus on unchanging human needs in events: connection, learning, and creation. Coutinho-Mason showcased AI's potential through diverse examples, from Microsoft's multimodal AI for real-time coaching to Salesforce's AI sales coach, introducing the concept of an AI-powered meeting copilot to enhance event experiences.
The speaker illustrated human-AI collaboration using chess examples of Garry Kasparov and Magnus Carlsen. For networking, he presented Bawdy, an AI tool for meaningful event introductions, contrasting it with Mark Zuckerberg's virtual friends concept. Coutinho-Mason envisioned AI enhancing real-time event Q&A and even demonstrated an AI-generated event soundtrack.

Questions about
live takeaways.
What are live takeaways?
Live takeaways are the key points of a talk, written by Snapsight as the speaker makes them and shown on every attendee’s phone. Each is a short headline and a sentence or two, usually around ten per session, and links back to the speaker’s own words. Attendees also get an Idea Cloud of the session’s themes and a summary afterwards.
How soon do takeaways appear during a session?
As the talk goes: Snapsight adds each takeaway as the speaker makes the point, so the list builds during the session. At Festival of Curiosity, takeaways appeared four to five minutes into each session. The summary is ready straight after the session ends.
What is an Idea Cloud?
The Idea Cloud is a live map of a session’s themes, built by Snapsight from what the speaker says, and it grows as the talk goes. Attendees tap a theme to see its takeaway and the speaker’s own words. Organisers can put it on the main screen, LED walls or foyer screens, in the event’s colours.
How accurate are AI session summaries?
Snapsight writes takeaways and summaries from the stage audio, and every idea links back to the words that were said, with the speaker’s name on them, so anyone can check the source. Speaker detection keeps names right on panels, and quality follows the audio, so take a direct feed from the sound desk. The attendee view notes that AI-generated content may contain mistakes.
How are takeaways different from a transcript?
A transcript is every word; takeaways are the points worth keeping. Snapsight gives attendees both during the session: live text of what is said, and around ten takeaways that build as the speaker makes each point. Full transcript downloads come with Pro.
What do we need on site for live takeaways?
One audio feed from your sound desk, and the session’s QR code on screen or in print. Snapsight tests the feed and your languages with you before doors open.
Do attendees need an app to see the takeaways?
No. Each session has a link and a QR code that open in the phone’s browser, with the live text, takeaways, Idea Cloud and summary in the language the attendee chooses. Takeaways can also sit inside your event app, as they did in the FIP Congress App at FIP’s 2025 World Congress.
Which languages are the takeaways in?
99, for reading and listening. Each attendee picks their own language on their own phone, and the takeaways, Idea Cloud and summary follow it.
How much do AI session summaries cost?
Snapsight Pro is $249 per session of up to 2 hours, or $199, $149 and $99 a session in packs of 20, 50 and 100, valid for 12 months. Pro includes live takeaways, the Idea Cloud, summaries, transcript downloads, Remix for post-event content, and MCP and API access; packs also include Engage for every event they are used at. Live text translation stays free.
Can takeaways from a closed session stay private?
Yes. Add an access code to the session, and only people with the code can open its live text, takeaways and summary. Your content stays yours and is never used to train AI models.
