Questions about
setup.
What equipment do we need for live translation at an event?
A laptop running Snapsight in each room, the room’s audio from the mixer, and a reliable internet connection. Attendees use their own phones, so there are no booths, consoles or headsets. Each session has its own QR code for the stage screen, a slide, a badge or print.
Do attendees need an app?
No. They scan the QR code or open the session link in their phone’s browser, then pick a language. To listen rather than read, they use their own earbuds.
Who runs Snapsight on the day?
Your AV team connects the feed and puts up the QR code, and Snapsight’s team checks the feed, languages and attendee access with you before doors open. CityDNA captured 15+ sessions with no one monitoring them.
How long does setup take?
WiT Japan & North Asia 2024 went from start to live within a week, with one person handling AV, setup and integration. On the day, each room needs one audio feed and one QR code.
What if the audio is poor?
Accuracy follows the audio, the accent and the language. Snapsight’s 97% English accuracy is measured with a direct feed from the venue mixer, so take the feed from the sound desk and use the sound check to hear it before doors open. Custom vocabulary keeps names, brands and acronyms right.
Can Snapsight run in several rooms at once?
Free covers every room at once, up to 100 sessions a year. The $299 Engage event pass lifts that cap for the event and adds your branding, sponsor logos and Q&A moderation; for larger programmes Snapsight prices Enterprise with you.
Does it work for online and hybrid sessions?
Yes. Snapsight can take the audio from an online session as well as from a venue mixer, and remote attendees open the same session link as the room.
We already have recordings. Can we use them?
Yes. Upload a recording to Snapsight for takeaways, summaries and Remix.
What happens after the session?
Takeaways and summaries stay open, so people who missed a session can catch up. Remix drafts post-event and sponsor reports, carousels and decks from your sessions, and each speaker gets a private Speaker Remix link for a card and a draft post.
Where does the audio from our sound desk go?
To Snapsight, encrypted in transit and at rest and hosted in Frankfurt, Germany, by default. Snapsight is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified, and GDPR compliant. Your content never trains AI models, and your data, and the IP in it, belongs to you. Read about security
