February in Taipei hits different. Tradition meets innovation, kind of like the events industry itself.
When Ananth (Growth & Partnerships, Snapsight) walked into IAPCO’s Annual Meeting & General Assembly, he wasn’t just there for Snapsight. He was stepping into a room full of people who get what it takes to bring humans together.
“We Are of a Tribe.”
It wasn’t just a theme on banners and slides—it was in every coffee chat and hallway conversation about the future of events.
It reminded us of something Rik DeBrusser, an assistant professor at the Graduate Institute of Linguistics at National Chengchi University, Taiwan, said. Many indigenous communities, and even city dwellers, aren’t speaking their languages as much anymore. And when a language fades, so does a connection to identity and tradition.
Snapsight captured that in real-time.
A Community That Runs Global Events
IAPCO isn’t just another industry group.
For over 50 years, they’ve built a global community of Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs)—the people behind the world’s biggest and most complex events. With 180 member companies across 45 countries, they know what works (and what doesn’t) when bringing thousands of people into one space.
The opening ceremony set the tone. An indigenous dance symbolized love and solidarity—big words, but ones that felt real in that moment. Sarah Markey-Hamm, IAPCO’s President, welcomed everyone with warmth that wasn’t scripted.
Snapsight in Action
Throughout the event, Snapsight captured and processed live session content. Speakers shared their insights, attendees saw real-time takeaways and interactive idea clouds popped up on their devices.
During former President Ingwen Tsai’s session, Snapsight surfaced key themes on empathy in leadership, balancing stakeholder needs, and Taiwan’s democratic journey. Words like “inclusion,” “progressive,” and “reforms” stood out in the idea cloud—turning a speech into something participants could visually digest.
During the Tribe Exchange sessions, Ananth moderated a discussion with Miguel Carneiro about AI adoption in events. The room filled with PCOs asked questions that cut through the usual tech hype:
- How to train people to use AI in the event industry
- How can associations use AI to educate PCOs
- What kind of compliance and security protocols should be there for faster and easier AI application.
While they talked, Snapsight picked up the key themes and organized them so everyone could see the big picture in real time. After a solid discussion, Ananth wrapped it up by sharing the main takeaways—what people were most curious about, what’s holding them back, and where AI is already making a difference.
Capturing What Matters
When the event wrapped up, our work didn’t stop.
The Snapsight team pulled together a 23-page post-event report with session summaries and real insights. We identified seven major themes that ran through the event:

At the closing session, as the new IAPCO leadership team stepped in, one thing was obvious: tech keeps events running, but people make them matter.
