This is where I think the future is going to be so exciting, right? Hopefully I’ve given you a few examples.

Of how like I really think we will look back in 5 years’ time.

In actually horror at how we tolerated spending so much money, so much time, so much carbon, bringing people together and we got so little out of it.

I think we will look back if you know, we hear so much about AI and automation, but hopefully I’ve given you a different perspective on how AI can help us learn faster, connect better, and ultimately create together when it comes to events.

After the session

Summary

At IMEX Frankfurt 2025, Henry Coutinho-Mason delivered a thought-provoking presentation titled "Thriving in the AI era: Non-obvious ways to design a people-first AI strategy." Challenging the fetishization of AI technology, he echoed Jeff Bezos' focus on unchanging human needs in events: connection, learning, and creation. Coutinho-Mason showcased AI's potential through diverse examples, from Microsoft's multimodal AI for real-time coaching to Salesforce's AI sales coach, introducing the concept of an AI-powered meeting copilot to enhance event experiences.

The speaker illustrated human-AI collaboration using chess examples of Garry Kasparov and Magnus Carlsen. For networking, he presented Bawdy, an AI tool for meaningful event introductions, contrasting it with Mark Zuckerberg's virtual friends concept. Coutinho-Mason envisioned AI enhancing real-time event Q&A and even demonstrated an AI-generated event soundtrack.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Snapsight help attendees who are deaf or hard of hearing?

Yes. Live captions appear on their own phone as the speaker talks, and the text stays on the page so they can read back. Speaker detection shows who is talking on panels, and custom vocabulary keeps names and terms right.

### Can captions go on the stage screen as well as on phones?

Yes. Presentation Mode shows the live text full screen on a stage display or monitor, high-contrast and readable at a distance, so attendees who are hard of hearing can follow without looking down. Everyone can still read along on their own phone.

### Does Snapsight work for neurodivergent attendees?

Each attendee chooses how to follow: live text at their own pace, takeaways that build as the talk goes, the Idea Cloud, or the summary afterwards, and they can step out and catch up. Snapsight doesn’t claim one format suits everyone; through All Minds it is learning with organisers what helps most.

### What do attendees need?

Their own phone and a browser. They scan the QR code on screen or open the session link, then pick a language; to listen, they use their own earbuds. There’s no app.

### Can attendees catch up after a session?

Yes. Takeaways and summaries stay open, so people who stepped out or missed the session can catch up. Transcript downloads come with Pro.

### Can remote attendees follow too?

Yes. They open the same session link and follow in their language, wherever they are.

### What accessibility features are free?

Live captions and text translation, for every event: every room at once, up to 10 languages per session, 100 sessions a year. Voice translation is $10 per language, per session, with captions included. Takeaways, the Idea Cloud and summaries come with Pro at $249 per session, less in packs.

### What is All Minds?

A Snapsight partnership that brings Snapsight to events built around neuroinclusion, at subsidised or no cost. In return, you help learn what actually helps, and Snapsight shares it with the industry, with your consent.
